IN THE SURROUNDINGS:
Teotihuacán: Impressive archaeological
site located 50 kilometers north of Mexico City. It is an ancient
sacred city where you can find the Sun and Moon pyramids, and the
remains of a Teotihuacan culture that existed before the Mexica
culture.
Taxco: This is an enchanting Colonial city where
the Spanish colonization left its imprint in places such as the
Santa Prisca Cathedral. You can find gold and silver mines here,
and therefore, shopping for gold or silver is cheaper.
Cuernavaca: The so-called “city of eternal
spring” is a place where you can find the Saint Francis cathedral
built in the 16th century, the Borda gardens, and the Cortés Palace.
Puebla: It is important to visit the cathedral,
the Rosario Chapel, and the beautiful Talavera pottery shops.
Cholula: This is a place where you can walk through
the tunnels of the largest pyramid in the world.
Tula: It is an archaeological site where you can
admire the famous “atlantes”, ball game, and palaces.
Tepotzotlán: This town is famous for its
Jesuit seminar, which was built in the 16th century, the beautiful
Saint Francis Church, and the Viceroyship Museum.
