ARTS AND CRAFTS
One of the first industries that was
established in the city was the manufacture of tiles with characteristics
such as those which the Spanish City of Talavera de la Reina had
at that time: white clay, blue drawings and a glazed finishing.
The technique demonstrates a clear oriental influence, which over
the years became Mexicanized. The array of colors was expanded to
include yellows, greens and flesh-colored which we know. The tiles
produced in Puebla continue to be one of the finest Mexican crafts,
and in as much as they are manufactured manually, custom-made pieces
can be obtained. In general, establishments will take charge of
packing and shipping.
